Southern Arizona’s climate is more variable than many visitors expect. The Tucson-metro area lies in a high desert valley at just below 3,000 feet (1,000m) in elevation. Within an hour’s drive from downtown Tucson, you will travel to elevations ranging all the way up to nearly10,000 feet (3,300m). Heavy summer rains, winter snow and ice and temperature swings of 30-50 degrees F (2-10 C) between dawn and dusk are not uncommon throughout the region.

Call us to discuss weather-related issues for the particular season and preferred travel destinations during your coming visit to Tucson. You may want to pack your heavy coat, scarf and gloves along with your bathing suit. Really!
