As life-long food enthusiasts, we take great pride and enjoyment in serving our guests the most creative, fresh and colorful breakfast presentations each and every morning.
Arizona is blessed with abundance of regionally-grown agricultural delights all year long. Farms in Western Arizona provide us with the sweetest of citrus especially yellow grapefruit, navel oranges,

tangerines, tangelos, lemons and limes. Western Arizona is also home to the strawberry and our local markets see large juicy red strawberries during all four seasons.
Southeastern Arizona growers give us local seasonal treats like fresh summer peaches, juicy autumn apples and delicious pecans. Most of the dairy products used at The Liz come from dairy farms right here in and around Tucson. Southern Arizona is also home to the state’s largest wine-producing vineyards. Just an hour
south of Tucson you’ll find thriving vineyards dotting rolling hills of tall grass and oak. At elevations of 4,000 – 5,000 feet, Southern Arizona’s wine country benefits from cool wet winters and hot dry summers—making for the perfect conditions for a variety of red and white grapes. So whether we are cooking with wine or enjoying a bottle with our guests, Southern Arizona wines are a pleasant surprise for those visiting The Royal Elizabeth.

California, Mexico, Central and South America also keep our markets full of year-round fresh produce. We especially make use of all that Northern Mexico offers in the way of traditional Sonoran ingredients like zesty green and red chiles, fragrant herbs and spices such as epozote, Mexican cinnamon, chocolate, vanilla and oregano.
Tucson is a quintessentially progressive and diverse community and our year-round outdoor environment lends itself to a variety healthy lifestyle regimens. Our markets consistently offer quality organically-produced
fruits, vegetables, dairy and meats and carry an abundance of ingredients abound for vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, raw food and other types of diets. The Royal Elizabeth is proud to use organic ingredients, whenever possible, in every dish we prepare.
Tucson’s culture is also very culinarily-driven. For a city our size, we are continuously amazed at the number of absolutely incredible dining experiences to be enjoyed—many right here in our own neighborhood, just a short walk from The Liz. Tucson has been fortunate to welcome many well-regarded chefs who, in their retirement, have relocated from cities around the world to serve up an assortment of dishes of a variety of cuisines in small, delightful restaurant spaces throughout the city. As we said earlier, we are true food enthusiasts who, heralding from New York and Washington, DC, have found ample dining adventures here in Tucson that rival those from nearly any other city in which we’ve lived or traveled. You won’t be disappointed!
With culinary resources like these at our disposal, we promise to delight you each and every morning with a deliciously-memorable two-course gourmet breakfast. We stray far from the often-expected bacon-and-egg breakfast and meals heavy with starchy breads and pastries. On the contrary, we commit to a menu driven by diverse, fresh, healthy and creative ingredients—thoughtfully prepared and artfully presented.
Whether you stay with us two days or two weeks, we try our best to be sure that no breakfast items are repeated during your stay. This means the longer you stay, the more tantalizing appetizers, entrees, juice
blends and accompaniments you will experience—yet another reason to make The Royal Elizabeth your second home in Tucson.
We, of course, will cater to specific dietary or taste requirements including vegetarian, vegan, diabetic, low-carb and special breakfasts for younger children. Please talk with us by phone in advance of your arrival so that we anticipate and have a good sense of your individual needs.
And though we set a beautiful formal table and the dining parlor presents an elegant atmosphere, nothing is a greater compliment to us than to have our guests come to breakfast in their PJs, hair undone or in their bare feet. Feeling at home enough to be casual and comfortable at breakfast is what it’s all about.
Gourmet food, Victorian elegance and the comfort of a friend’s home…
…an experience uniquely available every day at the Royal Elizabeth.
